Thread: True or False: The B13 came with only 1 radiator fan

I was in autozone just now looking for a second cooling fan for the passenger side. In their system it came up that the B13 only had only 1 fan. I said whatever and called a bunch of Nissan dealers, and they said the same thing!! I said, "did the ones with A/C have a second fan?" And the tech guy said no. I called another two more dealers asking about a getting a new passenger side radiator fan, and they said the car only comes with 1 as well.

What gives? I have no idea. Looking at my 92 SE-R, it appears to have the mounting holes for a second fan bracket on the passenger side.

Two fans. one W AC like you said. Why not get some SPALs off of eBay? More flow etc. Also NX radiator might be a a good idea if you don't have one already.

LOL, so if anyone feels really bored, call your local Nissan dealer, ask for parts dept. and say you want a new passenger coolant fan. See what they say and report back to us.

i voted one, people don't normally call the ac fan a cooling fan.

I wouldn't, I have two slim spal's and they still don't flow as well as my OEM P11 fan set. I'm actually pulling my spal's out and installing OEM fans. Part of the problem with universal fans is lack of a shroud, which helps with pulling the heat more efficiently.



Sure as heck works like a cooling fan, they both do kick on at once even without AC being on :-P

I just called yet another Nissan dealer.

He said 1 fan only in the B13 unless you have air conditioning. They want $300 for another fan. F that. Autozone has one for $49.00 but I need to get the mounting bracket from a junkyard or something. I want cool air damnit!

Just go to the junkyard and get the whole thing for like $20. Then wire it in with the first fan so they both come on at the same time.

I only ran one fan on my first B13 w VE for a long time and never had a problem over heating. That one had no AC and i put an NX radiator right after I bought it.
@Vadim makes a good point if you don't have the air directed properly with the shroud it won't do much for you.
