Fel-pro is fine IMO.

what i bought @ autozone. so took it to the mechanic . told him its the valve cover. he replaced it for 20 bucks and did an oil change for another 20 . no more leakage. also the paste he used looked gray so i hope it was the right type.

He may have gone overboard with the RTV, but if it doesn't leak, call it a win.

I just checked the FSM and it specifies 'Liquid Gasket'. I'm not sure if that's the same as UltraGrey, but for over the counter sealant, UltraGrey is the way to go.

I only use it on the half moons too, but I've been using Permatex Gasket Maker. It seems to work pretty well and cures in about 4-6 hours. No problems so far.

i am a bastard, i used permatex ultra grey to force my old ass gasket to not leak. what i've ended up with is a gasket that stays fixed to the head, when ever i need to take the vc off, it just stays..

now some might think, why do i have my vc off that often? well good question. a few times has been for cam swaps, a few more times just to paint the v/c and sometimes just for shits and giggles to see how things are..

IMO unless your into replacing that gasket A LOT (because your always taking the vc off), its the way to go, so far 2 years and no leaks plus i've had it on an off many times, not to mention no fussing with getting it in place and shit..
