Major power loss
So I took my car to the track and ran a 16.4.... I got a 2.3 60ft, so not really bad launch... My car just feels really slow and sluggish... It has maybe 60k on a RR motor and 203k on the body..
I was doing some 60-80mph runs and its taking about 6.4 seconds when before it was 4.3, thats 2 seconds!!!!! My 0-60 time at the track was 9.5 seconds and I raced a GA b13 from 30-60 in 2nd and I pulled barely by a bumper...!!!!!!
Mods:
Pop filter
Hotshot header
Gutted Cat
2.5" catback
Magnaflow resonator and muffler

I notice through out the power band its just kicking back and forth.. If I give it around half throttle, from 4k to 5k in any gear it falls on its face and bogs down... More gas and it goes but sloppy, less gas and it picks up speed but sloppy as well..

MAF volts at idle = 1.5v
TPS volts at idle = .64

Plugs changed 2k miles ago
NGK plug wires changed 15k miles ago, ohm reading test is between 4(smallest) and 7(longest)
Cap and rotor look to be in good shape, 15k miles as well

fuel pump maybe failing?

pressure at idle is 34psi with vacuum which according to the FSM is perfect?

hmm, but maybe under load it goes weak? idk man, if its bogging theres a reason, just gotta find out whats causing it

I know... with full bolt ons I was expecting to at least run low 15's =\ going to go check my 02 sensor by unplugging it right now lol

Yeah thats a pretty shitty time for a RR powered b14 with bolt ons. Either your timing is off bigtime, maybe mechanical timing is off as well as the ignition timing. Fuel pump may be weak. It might show perfect pressure at idle and so on but doesnt mean its keeping up. If youve done all your basic tuneup stuff I would definitely look more into your ignition timing and mechanical timing. You should be running faster than that. Id say with that time and 60ft you probably trapped somewhere around 85mph? If so thats pretty sucky for the mods and something is definitely wrong.

Put it this way, my old b13 with a jdm de w/ intake, header, pullies, flywheel and a smaller than stock exhaust went 15.4@90mph, did the exhaust and went down to 14.6@94mph. Full weight b13 w/ sunroof and ABS

I trapped at 82mph............. Yeah mine is a full weight b14 without sunroof... I'm going to seriously look into the timing tomorrow..

The RR's ive seen have a tendancy to skip time on the chain due to the lack of upper guide and a failing tensioner. Not a good combination. As long as the tensioner is kept good they do fine.

Get yourself a timing light, double check mechanical timing, then set your base timing. If you run premium and your on stock cams then set base timing between 19-20* and see how that goes.

When I start my car I have a rod knock type of sound... Not sure what it is but its been there since I got the engine... Compression is still good as well

I will be checking the mechanical timing possibly tomorrow as well as setting my base timing

have you pulled the spark plugs and inspected them? have you checked for any vacuum leaks? how long has it been acting up, could be bad gas.
