Thread: Whadda make of this?

Got the card back, I was told they checked out the bearing per my request before I picked it up and was also told they were fine. I have it back now, gonna jack it up and put it in gear to see whats going on. Maybe even remove the front tires completely and see if the sound is still there

Jacked it up, let the tires spin freely in drive, YIKES! what the hell could be making that god awful sound if the bearing are supposedly ok?

Have the alignment checked.

I could prob use a alignment, im just trying to pin point the issue. I'm stumped

Kinda sounds like the brake shield is rubbing

Here is one last video of the night. I had someone on the brake this time so i could get all up in it. Seems like ONLY the drivers side doing it. Something to note. I had the axle on that side tightened during an inspection as i was told it was a little loose. Prior to taking it in for inspection though I had a lighter grinding noise which sounded like the rotors were rubbing against the brake pads when i was driving. This sound is slightly different and a lot louder tho. Theres really no play and nothing seems loose or wiggles. Not sure why it only makes that noise tho when it picks up speed and not when its slower

dust shield sound to me, doesn't seem like a wheel bearing.

Though, listening to it later, it seems like a lower pitched noise than you would get from the dust shield and it doesn't really kick in till higher RPM. Time to look at wheel bearings!

My vote is the wheel bearings, mine has the same issue.

Had a minute to investigate. Removed the caliper/brakes and rotor then tested it. Still there....and I to assume this is confirmed as a bad wheel bearing?
