Sorry egg man you are correct I was just listening and watching the rpm an easy way to check if the clutch is slipping go 1st 2nd take 2nd to redline then shift 5th and go full throttle if the car bogs clutch is good if it revs clutch Is junk.

You'll still have to take off the transmission to check it. Once you have everything out you'll be able to see the condition of the clutch disk, pressure plate, and check your oil seal.

Gotcha,

well the clutch was done yesterday... lmao everything was in great cond, other than flywheel which was resurfaced

On another note, this happened alot after I tightened my throttle cables.

Doesn't make sense though!

Cause when the problem occurs,

@7000 rpm sounds like 4k rpm
@3500 rpm sounds like 2k rpm, etc.

Also feels like the clutch maybe riding a little when throttling ( with foot off clutch of course )

starting to sound like the clutch cable is adjusted wrong.

Seems like the clutch is slipping. My brothers car was doing a similar thing but he has a hydraulic clutch. If you have a cable clutch, it shouldn't be happening.

If has to be the pressure plate not being bolted on completely or not fully up against the flywheel due to an improper resurfacing. When you got the flywheel resurfaced, did they maintain the same difference of the inner ring vs the outer ring? As in, was there a part beveled? I know some flywheels are beveled a bit. If they flattened it completely, then it would mess up the way the PP presses onto the clutch.

Make sure the clutch cable is tight. I would also check the clutch pedal adjustment and make sure it is fully engaging and disengaging the clutch at the proper height.

You think its the clutch? Put it in 5th gear at 35mph and floor it. If the RPM's just shoot up, clutch is slipping. I doubt its the clutch slipping because the RPM's are going steady up and usually when its the clutch the rpms just shoot up.. I think its something to do with your RPM gauge.. Even when your going in 2nd gear it doesn't sound like your 6 1/2k.... I would have to guess that the RPM gauge is off and thats my final answer!
