advice please: AC removal/exhaust work
Basically I've had my B13 on jack stands for the last four days putting in an hour of wrenching where I can because I'm horribly busy with school and work.

Here's what I'm wondering. I finally got the exhaust off today (egr tube is still jambed between the intake mani and where the exhaust manni was) and as I'm about to put my pace-setter back on, I'm wondering if it would be more convenient to just take out my AC now and not hassle with it later.

Its been non-functional since before I bought the car. New consenser and a whole mess of stuff but they could never get it working. I honestly never used it when I had cars that it worked in.

Here's my question. Should I just go the whole nine yards and take it out now or would it be just as much of a hassle when the exhaust is back in? Should I save it fro this summer when I'll be undoubtedly broke and itching for a project?

Its pretty damn easy bro! Hardest part is getting rid of the charge in the system. And then going to the store and buying a new belt.

Just undo the compressor, and then undo all other lines and pull everything out. You will need a big wrench to take off the pipes running into the firewall area, I think it is a "1" or larger. For the condenser rad, just undo the radiator and pull it forward with the header off (this step will be easier with no exhaust by far) and pull out that damn condenser rad.

GL!!

oh and GL with school I had my last exam yesterday

It doesnt matter that the exhaust is in or not, it would be easier with it out because it gives you more room to work. It will just cost you $15 for a new belt. Its easy, super easy if you do not want to save any lines. Id say do it now while it is a little easier.

No charge in the system, guys. That was problem numero uno. I just want the weight reduction and less strain on the alternator belt.

I already have the fan out, it was easier to get at the OEM header head shields with it out, all 15 of them...
