I doubt that would do as good of a job at getting all the air out.

Realistically you could break it loose enough to slightly leak under heavy pedal pressure and push the air out that way. Not loose enough to where it would suck air back in but only come out when applying the brakes hard. That might push the air out but because of the position of it, its not a gurantee that you will get it all out.

you need to take the calipers off the car if they are seized up bad. put them in a bench vise. soak the bleeder with pb blaster. then get a socket on it if you can. If you can't use a socket use the off set box wrench that is designed for brake work. use a torch to with heat up the bleeder. with the caliper in a vise you should be able to get the proper leverage to break them loose. make sure to replace them. Dumb question but do you have normal bleeders or the two piece type. I have had this mess me up before.

There's a reason the bleeder is at the highest point of the caliper. If I felt the brakes needed to be bled, I'd either drill out & replace the bleeder, or get new calipers.

This.Loaded calipers are CHEAP.The last time I bought a set for the front, they were around $60 each.Much easier than farting around trying to fix the old ones.I'd scrounge the sofa for the cash,it's worth it.
