Removing Oil Pressure Sensor
Hey Fellas. I tried searching but since our forum is fairly new I had no luck. I figure one of you on here has done this already.

All right so I was behind my motor and I noticed that the oil pressure sensor was slightly covered in oil. I figure I should take it out and seal it up with some thread sealant while I have the car up on stands. Now my question is how do you get it out without breaking it? I didn't see a place to put a wrench on it. The senor has the plastic connector piece and then a round plastic ring in front of it.

Any tips on this procedure would be appreciated. I didn't want to start on it and then break it.

The stock ones aren't in very tight... you can remove the connector, wipe it off and there's like a round metal part w/ grooves. I think the last time I did it i wrapped it with a dry rag, and carefully unthreaded it with vice grips. It may not be the best way, but that is how I did it.

Having the same issue with oil leaking out of it and it being stuck...

Depends on what kind of wrench you have, clearance is an issue (if the wrench is too long).

Socket wrenches should fit it, but you need to make sure you have a big enough one and its long enough, so that the plastic sensor harness attachment can fit on it.

They make a special socket for the sensor.Any autoparts store should have it.
