Thread: Help! Name that sound- squeeky engine (video clip)

My newly purchased NX2000 is making a pretty loud squeeling/ squeeking sound when I first start it up, the sound will eventually go away after the car has ran a while and warmed up. Sounds as if it is coming from the valvetrain, maybe a stuck lifter? Figured I post a video to see if anyone has dealt with this before

Going to remove the valvecover and have a look, see if I spot anything obvious.

Still got A/C on it? That sounds more of a clutch(A/C) starting to lock up or some type of accessory noise. If its not any of them, it should likes possible a bad timing chain guide or something...

yes it still has ac on it that does not work, but sound doesn't seem to be coming from belts or pass side of car.

did a compression test and come back with these numbers: 100psi,75psi,80psi,70psi

Used a cheap o'reillys rental tester not sure if the tool was entirely accurate.

retarded the timing some seemed to help.... dont know if it was advanced to far or what. Guess we'll wait and see what happens over the next few days. might be ordering a new engine soon.
