Woohooo my CEL is gone. The Knock Sensor was spliced into the ECU from the engine harness so I just cut the stock wire just above the splice so the new wire is wired directly to the sensor.

It was giving me a Knock Sensor, EGR, and leaking injector CELs.

Can you elaborate a bit? You ran a new wire back to the ECU inside the car?

Sorry I typed that first reply on my phone.

The way the knock sensor was wired to the car when I dug into it was, the white wire that runs through the firewall with the other wires on the harness, was stripped a little bit in one spot and a new wire was twisted on to that. From the stripped spot they ran the new wire through a new hole in the firewall and stripped the white knock sensor wire a little past the pin #27 and twisted the new wire there.

So instead of just cutting the stock white wire and re-wiring the new wire directly to pin 27 from the knock sensor, they just twisted on new wire on old wire. Ended up causing false check engine lights.

I finished up around 5pm last night and drove it for a few miles to get food and the CEL came back on. Cursed the car, then ate and left with the CEL still on for a few more miles and magically it shut off. Hasn't been on since last night. Drove a lot today and nothing popped up. Yay!

I also wanted to add that a new EGR pipe part is only like 25-30$ from the dealer and pretty easy to install. Thats what I did
