Grease for Throw Out Bearing
The FSM states a lithium based grease including molybdenum disulfide for use on the throw out bearing and surrounding parts. I have the mobil 1 synthetic grease. Will that work for these components or should I get what the factory says?

Heres a link to the grease.

Thanks guys.

According to the Mobil 1 specs, it is a lithium based grease. The lithium base helps prevent the "water wash-out". Mobil 1 has extreme pressure additives that are not identified. Moly-sulfide are very tiny particles that are not soluble in the grease. They act like miniature ball bearings to provide support for extreme pressure applications. Moly-sulfide is black.
I would say that the Mobil 1 is fine based on the lihium base and unknown EP additives. Anything that works on disc brake wheel bearings should be more than capable of handling the requirements for the throw out bearing.
Don't forget to lube the pivot shaft.
