I have a similar problem. My alternator light and battery light come on and off randomly while i drive. The power is fine just these lights are going on and off. I double checked everything all harnesses are tight and connected. My guess is that it is the wrong alternator on the car.

I had that same problem on my nx a few years back. It turned out the wire harness by the alternator was pretty corroded and 2 of the wires had the casing melted off. I ended up building a new harness with larger gauge wire.

Usually like most have already said when those lights come on your alternator is dead or on its way out.
