Then your doing something wrong. lol.

As far as optimum timing for the s4's. That depends on the setup. With full bolt ons my old se-r liked about 19* base timing with them.

In turbo use, just stick to 15 deg. If everything is installed correctly as far as the cam install wise, the distributor with the bolt in the center should be fairly close to 15 deg.

Get the idle where you want it first then go into timing mode and set timing.

So I just adjusted my idle a bit higher and advanced the timing a little bit on the DE. The idle had been loping around and dropping low since I installed Tomei 270's last week.. I set it at 1000rpms because of the lope. The weird thing is, I also have the JWT ECU with the S3/S4 cam program and I thought that was supposed to (among other things) raise the idle a bit to make it less lopey for the cams. Strangely, after 220 miles with the Tomei cams this never happened.
