Ya thats what i'm hoping also its an easy fix, I'm going to do a compression test soon. Will doing that tell me if I have a problem?

If your NX has a JDM engine swap, they run on celsius and will give you a hotter reading in the USDM which is fahrenheit of course. In the unlikely event that's the case, then here's the solution:

Get rid of all your current coolant and replace with:

1 jug of distilled water

1 bottle of Redline water wetter. (Autozone has it)

Solved the overheating issues in both my B13 and B14 after getting rid of the standard 50/50 coolant, after the temps hit record 102 degrees this summer so far. Neither has had an issue since.

just buy a stupid autometer guage to see what your real temp is at. that stupid stock gauge aint worth shit. my stock one moves up and down all day long while my autometer gauge reads my actuall temp. stock gauge is always off

I also have a problem with my stock temp guage. When i drive the temp guage goes all the way down passing C.When im at a redlight for a long time or when im in park the temp rise's slowly, once about 5-10 mins pass the guage goes a lil more than half way point say 3/4. The radiator is stock not even a year old, new water pump, new hose's, and new rad cap.To make sure fresh 50/50 coolant with red line watter wetter. Any advice or HELP and im running on one stock Fan not sure if its the radaitor or a/c.

Yep, get a real temp gauge. As said before the stock one is worthless. Period. Personally I wouldn't autocross your car yet till you fix the gauge issue witha real one. Blew a headgasket a year ago road racing the 91 with a DE, stock temp gauge. by the time it climbed to 3/4 and beyond the car still ran but coolant boiled out of the overflow tank. Lesson learned. We were at 116 degrees 2 days ago and will be around 112-115 for a while. If you live in the heat, get a real gauge. If you autocross or track your ride, same thing.

Ya I have been driving back and forth to work all week with no issues. Just on the HWY is trips out. I'm going to autocross this weekend F It. If it blows up more reason to go VE. I would love to get a real gauge but where to put it? Thanks for all the help guys I love this community!

Also make sure your radiator fans are coming on, with and without the A/C on. AFAIK they come on around 212 F. That could explain why it overheats at idle or when stopped as you're not getting air passing over.

Just get one, we can show you where to put it. If you blow your DE you will definitely need the temp gauge when you go VE since they run significantly hotter under track conditions. Storm mentions the fans, definitely make sure they are working properly at the temps they should operate. Very critical.

You really need to check all my old post on NX A/C overheating on highway. Been suffering with this issue since 2000. Anytime it is over 92-95 degrees with the A/C on on the highway the Autometer and Stock Guage pegs and the AC cuts off. I am going on a limb here and saying that our problem may just be the condensor. It is apparently getting super hot and allowing the cooling air to heat up and overheat the coolant. I was JUST about to buy a Mishimoto radiator hoping this would solve my problem. Isn't it ironic that our cars overheat on the highway as opposed to bumper to bumper?
