I'm assuming you mean "with the timing chain cover
off" in which case, no, I didn't turn it over until it was fully re-assembled.

Fully charged, and if I work on the car for prolonged periods I throw a charger on it afterward just for good measure.

There is a rhythm to it, but it's a bit funky (which is why I was leaning alot toward bad cam timing). I'll get a video of what I mean in a minute.

I agree 100%. A compression test either will tell you the problem or rule out a good number of things. I'm doing that today, will post results.

I'll give this a try. Probably go right to testing it with a lighter, since I enjoy watching stuff burst into flames (including newbs :rofl

The pulley is in good condition, and it didn't separate. I even had the actual removal tool handy that threads in those two holes on it to pull it. Keyway and everything on the pulley is good.

The timing gears are on the crank, so I am just curious as to how the pulley system can cause a no-start.
I don't think it can, but you wouldn't want it to run like that anyway considering it drives the water pump and alty. But not having that pulley on shouldn't affect the starting of the engine, just the running of it.
