Oil pressure situation??
Was wondering of this situation is common on sr20ve or is there something wrong.. Today I finally figured out the problem with my previous question.. Now i checked the dipstick and the oil was low.. I added in oil, started the car and the oil pressure stood at 25 psi on 1k rpm.. When I full throttled the engine pressure rose quick to 100psi.. Is this normal or a bad pick up or a bad oil pump.. My motor did once fall and fell on the pick up tube once but didnt notice anything wrong with the pick up tube...

oil pressure when oil is warm is 17 psi at idle. at 3k no load its like 51 psi and over 5-6k it should be 100 psi. thats what Nissan FSM says. any thing around 20 psi at idle is good and if you rev over 5k it should be 90-100+ psi

Thanks for the info.. Glady appreciate it.. But idle is around 23 psi and when I rev to around 3k.. It shot straight to about 75 80psi. Just wanna make sure...

I have a question, does anyone know which wire to tap on the ECU to wire an oil pressure gauge so I can check mine too

Thought you needed to add a sensor for a pressure gauge, as the stock setup is just a dummy light.
