Advice regarding buy needed!
Hai mighty guru's!

Short story:
I have a NX2000 as a project car that I'm doing up. I'm DDing it for 2 months, and then it's gonna hit the garage and get sprayed and refurbed. It has the standard SLUDGED SR20DE 143hp motor which I have a Love/Hate relationship with. It performs well, but I know It won't last forever...

Been thinking about selling it next year when it's been painted, and look at a S13 240SX SR20DET, but deep down I know it will be sold at a loss and I'm gonna be paying way too much for the S13..(drift tax is insane here! cheapest S13 go for 4 grand!!!)

Recently a P10 with a SR20DE Redtop 150hp swap popped up for sale. It has low miles, Megasquirt 2.2, and a new clutch fitted ½ year ago. This would solve my engine issues, but I'm not sure an engine swap is worth it. 7 moar hp? Megasquirt helps much?

Seller wants 400€ (500$), and the car is in a undrivable state (untaxed, rear wheels locked?!?)



Will an engine swap restore my faith in the SR20DE?
Is a megasquirt 2.2 worth anything?
I love my NX, but i hate my current SR20, I was happier with my old NX1600!!

No offense, but after dealing with MegaSquirt for some time, and then finally seeing the light, I would consider the MS install a negative.

How would chaning from one SR20 car to another SR20 car get rid of your love hate relationship?

You need to look at your entire picture before you decide on what you are going to buy. I would stay away from the P10 and use the money on the NX unless you need a 4dr. All you are is getting someone elses headache.

I knew they were bad, but THAT bad? Phew!
Seller bragged about it being tuned to 14.7, and 12-13 under load. Wat? Aren't all ECUs working kinda like that?

That's very true. IF I would have bought it, the engine would be lifted out and the chassis sent to the scrappers.

My entire picture: I'm 20 years old, 25% through my studies (3 years left), drive a Nissan Micra daily (my GF's), I have a NX2000 as my sideproject.

My NX get's so little love from anyone except me. It's provocative as hell, but the paintjob is so bad, I'm almost ashamed of it.. Couple that with a bone stock sr20 with no bolt ons, and you get a sad little NX..

Plans for this year:
-Find new drivers door & front spoiler
-Repaint whole car (professionally?)
-Bolt on some go-go-gadget parts (headers, intake..)

Will this cure my feeling of emptiness? I had a NX1600 once with a superb paintjob, but I (stupidly) sold it and got a SR20, thinking rainbows would appear everywhere..

IF I'm not satisfied with what I've created, I'll then sell it and get that !%"¤% overpriced S13.

Noted Too bad VE's are like unicorns here in Finland..
