Yeah, but I like to be sensible about it, so that I know exactly how everything comes apart and goes back together.

X2. You can use it on the ball joint as well.

Interesting! Thanks for that. I'm going to get out there and try again, see if there's a way to un-seize the bolts from the hub

Got it!

When all else fails, find a bigger hammer. My 5lb mallot wasn't working, so I grabbed the 9lb mallot. Now to try and pull the DS axle from the tranny. Gave it a few tugs and no dice. Going to try and pry it loose, but I don't think I have a prybar.

Use a crescent wrench that opens up wide. Slip it in between the trans case and the big part of the axle. Hit with hammer to pry out.

Friend dropped by with his axle puller (oversized screwdriver (crowbar)), and popped it in about 5 seconds. I was pissed!

Moved forward a bit, and started double checking connections, and found that one tranny connection was not disconnected. I can't get it disconnected, either. It goes from the bottom of the tranny to the top, and connects into the main harness. I can't figure out how to disconnect it, so I'm off to do some reading before I call it a night.

Some of the plugs have a tab that needs to be pushed down. One or two have a tab that you LIFT to unclip it.

Thanks. I asked around and apparently there's a small tab that needs to be pushed down, in order to separate the connection. Will try it when I get home.
