Got the knuckles back from the shop today, I was just outside putting everything back on and I noticed the new Driver Side CV that I ordered is a little different than the one I pulled off the car? I noticed the grooves on the transmission side are different, what do you guys think?

New one is on the right old on the left

Looks like an incorrect axle.

The one on the left has an ABS ring that the right one lacks.

the new one is a nissan reman axle....the abs ring is missing.....the rubber weight in the middle is a give away that it's a nissan axle....you really want that balance weight btw

Hmm my car doesn't have ABS though? It came with NX2K brakes when I bought it though...

The nx brakes don`t matter for the axle....the noise might have been the abs ring the whole time....not sure about this as i haven`t been around many b13`s with abs

The ABS ring is a soft metal. You can pop it on and off with a hammer. If that was the sound it would have already been ground down to nothing. All knuckles have the recess in them for the ABS ring though, they just aren't all tapped for the sensor.

And it's the correct axle. You'll be fine.

So I can use the axle that has the rubber weight in the middle (pictured above)? Because I was having a hard time fitting it in

Those are mine.(same as yours)

And yea, I had a hard time fitting it in also. Give it a little love tap.

You da man! I got the knuckles back on with the knuckles, didn't hear any grinding so hopefully it'll stay that way! I just threw the old driver side CV in but I didn't know the one in there didn't have that weight so when I do tie rod ends I'll throw the new on one
