F'ing ACT products...
Ok, first off ; ACT products are complete shit in my book now. Last November my clutch exploded, and cracked my bell housing. I was in need to a clutch like ASAP and my buddy had the BNIB ACT Setup w/ there Extreme? PP and there street disc (has anybody notice how identical an ACT street disc and a Exedy OEM replacement disc look). Anyways all was well until...

A couple weeks ago I noticed my engagement point on my clutch had dropped closer to the floor than what it used to be. As soon as that happened, I notice some difficulty getting into gear...but that was only the beginning. My first assumption was that It could be a stretched cable, but a stretch cable from my experience will usually just break and not necessarily lock you out of gear like what Was happening to me, which was happening intermittently ...Long story short, my b13 came home on a rollback last Friday night. Got the trans pulled down last night to discover this...Keep in mind this setup was LESS than a year old hence why I am so pissed.

I got those same cracks around my springs on my ACT clutch. Not happy about it a bit.

I went with a Stage 3 set-up from Greg V at G-spec about 4-years ago. Love it, and it will easily handle my future bolted-on VE.

ACT seems very hit-or-miss on the forum. I know I will never, ever buy another ACT clutch.

I had the same exact problem with my clutch back in December and it was an exedy clutch also. Some of the springs even popped out and I had pieces of metal flying around in there. Total piece of crap I tell you!

I was super heated when I discovered that....., I Know I wont buy there products again. But at the same time, I wonder if my application has something to do with it...Granted its on a VE on boltons with 180whp. But this is the 2nd time something like has happened to my disc (which again the ACT and Exedy disc look the exact same). First time it came apart in the bell housing and cracked it. 2nd time was this experience.....Now am I just using shitty clutches that just aren't holding up with my VE or just bad products..

Where did that huge hunk of metal stuck in the PP come from? Do you know the source of that?

I have idea why these things happen. It's quite strange to see the pressure plate fins to get bent, and for the plate on the clutch to get cracked and for the springs to pop out.....the only thing I can think of is that maybe it gets off alignment, or something like that... Not sure.

It looks like it might have come from the clutch?

I don't think so, unless I over looked something last night. I'll do a further inspection of the disc when I get home and follow up. I didn't think I saw anything missing from the disc, but I could be wrong..
