Thread: P11 transmission question

Pardon my ignorance on this type of question, but I've got a friend wanting to upgrade to a P11 transmission. He found a deal on one that does not have LSD, but was wondering if the LSD unit from the stock B13 would fit in as a swap. I imagine the FD would have to be swapped over, if it'll work, just need to know for sure. If anyone has any idea, we'd really appreciate it.

depends what year p11 it is. if its a 99p11 then it will. case is diff on 00+

Regardless of year... Stock LSDs won't fit in non-LSD boxes.

Doesn't the LSD box have that extended protrusion on the drivers side??

It has pumpkin hump.

You would have to swap the outer case not the bellhousing side as they are the same for both lsd and non lsd. Its more work and money then buying a lsd trans to begin with.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll let him know. I didn't think about the design differences in the case for the non-lsd.
