For me it started in 04 when I was a sophmore in highschool. My 92 b13 SE-R was my uncle's and had been sitting in the driveway for over a year. Out of nowhere one day my grandmother told me it was now mine. At the time I too like everyone else wanted a civic all riced out but once I felt the pull of that sr20 I was sold. I knew nothing about forums, modding or anything so it stayed stock for the first 2 years. First time out to the track I ran into another SE-R owner that claimed he was whooping up on rx-8s. I couldn't believe it. So I started modding. First was the megan racing resonator in place of the cat(whooped up and many a honda and even the 04-06 spec v), then the megan racing headers, and then a custom 2.25in side exit exhaust with a magnaflow resonator instead of the megan. Still own the car to this day and still have the same love for it I did when I first stomped on the gas. We have been through alot and still have a long road ahead. I have been told numerous times to just sell it due to putting over 6k into it just in repairs alone. But I could never get rid of my first love!

My first car was a B13 XE. I totaled it, but after realizing how well it took the damage, I set out to look for another Nissan. My next car (and really what got me into the scene) was a 93(?) Yellow NX1600. I learned some basics, found the OG forum, and decided to sell it in favor of an NX2k. The rest is history.

Before that point, the most I could do was watch my dad work in the garage. I could probably barely change my oil or brakes. Now, 6 years later, I've built my own SR20DE+T, helped friends build/swap VE's and VE+T's, do almost all of my work myself, basic-tuned several B13's, and am currently building a VG30DETT. I think saying "I've come a long way," is a bit of an understatement.

I knew I wanted something with a SR20 when one night leaving Street Legal Performance with my older brother in his T25 B13, we ran into a 360 Modena on the expressway, I always wanted to hear one up close so I urged my brother to creep up next to 360 to listen to the exhaust note, when we were cruising by the 360 hit it but the B13 walked it.

Nothing like hearing the fading engine of a Ferrari behind you.

I constantly dream about it too, I know I'm a car nut. This was back in 02-03 iirc.

My first vehicle purchase ever was in 1983, a Datsun 260Z. Loved it.

In 1991-92 I was driving a Datsun 280ZX 2+2 Turbo. Electrical gremlins and repair bills ate my lunch. The entire car would "blink off", total blackout, at 70mph on the freeway, at night.

Car & Driver Magazine had the SE-R in their Top-10 for three (3) years running. I already loved the similar BMW 2002tii's and Datsun 510's but wanted something very reliable.

I went and test-drove a brand new 1993 Sentra SE-R. The only one in Black in Houston. Fell deeply and hopelessly in love, I can clearly remember thinking "Nissan built this thing just for me." It's still in my possession. Found the forums in 2004. My SE-R still looks basically the same, however the mechanicals have been modified just a bit.

Mid 1990, the "Bob's car" commercials initially caught my attention. I looked at them new on the lot, but financially I wasn't ready for the payments. April 1991, I had just gotten myself into a 1989 Ford Probe, damned if shortly after I started seeing a black SE-R on the way to work every morning on a winding stretch of road. That guy had his foot in it every morning and always seemed to have a big smile on his face.

I purposely paid off the Probe a year early and started looking for an SE-R.

September 7th 1994, one day before my 24th b-day I bought myself a Vail white '91 hardtop with 21k miles on it. This is where it began....

It was summer 1993 and i had only my permit and was going for my license soon when my uncle offerd me his white non moon roof 1991 se-r that he bought off the showroom floor new . He was going to trade it in for a new ford taurus SHO and the dealership or stealership (lol) only offerd his $2.5k trade they saod it had high miles . I had only about $3k saved at the time so he said your family call it yours.... It was all mine ! 68k miles and not a scratch or dent on it . Long story short got my license and it was on from there ....

I remember the aftermarket support back then ! Had to ghetto fab parts like intake ehaust . Although i was more into audio then performance at the time . Can you say cerwin vega 10's on a oldschool A.D.S amps and a blautpunk pull out tape deck ? Lol

My story is somewhat similar to someone else on here. My parents had an early 80s B210 and they finally traded it in for a new Sentra in '87. My mother drove that car herself until we were finally old enough to drive. It finally gave up in '99 with almost 300,000 miles on it. From there I was pretty much sold on Sentras. My first car was an '87 Sentra SE, 3 speed automatic that I bought for $325. Nothing was wrong with it other than the transmission was on it's last leg. A truck finally destroyed it, so I bought a '89 Honda Accord LX-i and a drunk driver killed that. So, it was back to Sentras. Got a '93 Sentra E and drove it through college. Heard about the SR20 for a while, been to a couple of the Baltimore SR20 meets they used to have in Glen Arm MD, and finally I decided to purchase a '99 Sentra SE-L.

It was a good car; worst thing was the timing chain clammored really bad even after upgrading the tensioner. But it had a lot of life and I was always surprised by the power it had in 5th gear. Some lady running a red light killed that. I wanted to get a G20 after that but could never find a 5speed for a reasonable price, so I got my current Accord instead. Maybe someday I will find myself with another SR20; I'm always on the lookout. I do believe I have Nissan blood running in my veins still.
