im just hoping if the rings were replaced they were gapped correctly and installed correctly.

i dont think the engines had any machine work due to how dirty it is on the inside and outside.

i honestly think the pans got taken off they so just put new rod bearings on since it was open.....all the pistons are still dirty so even if the outside of the block got dirty later or not cleaned at all i don't think the pistons have been out.....thinking you should bring that headgasket you got tomorrow just in case......i think we better pull the head

well so far way too much wasn't tightened so you know we gotta check the head bolts and if we're doing that might as well pull it off and inspect it

so the head was torqued down correctly......cam timing is set and it's all covered in clevite assembly lube.....took pics of the new rod bearings while i applied the assembly lube and torqued them down correctly

i know it's alot of pics for 4 rod bearings but i figured i might as well document all this while i had it apart......after looking over the #'s on the crank and block and the bearings these are correct and brand new
seems as tho the person that had all this done only had the head done at a shop....pretty sure they put the rod bearings in considering the #4 rod cap was on backwards when me and lynch first looked at it....don't really think the shop put a rod cap on backwards....LOL

nice, how do you like that assembly lube?

funny story, my freind had a bone stock g20, either way, it started to tap as if it began to spun a bearing so we decided to replace the bearing in hopes of saving it. (we did)

while checking it, one of the rods were completely backwards, lol and the motor seemed to be untouched, idk if it was touched or that was a fault at nissan, we left it alone fixed the bearing. but that was weird,

glw your build, post how everything goes

yeah in this case only the cap was in backwards.. i believe..

if you look at the tops of his rod caps theres numbers on top, some of the numbers you can read fine, others are upside down.. however all the numbers on the sides are in the right spots (now) with the rod number on one side and the bearing grade on the other. atleast i think the 0 is the bearing grade?

thos are indeed the factory rod bearing grades josh

the clevite assebly lube is awesome.....after putting the cams in we called it a night and well into the next day when i went and looked at it ALL the lube was still all over the cams....didn't ooze off =)
