Thread: SR20VE revs high problem

i swap a VE motor to a U13 Altima. after starting the engine, engine idles for 2 sec. and will rev high to 7k. anybody experience same problem? ECU shows no error codes. check every vacuum leak and found nothing. idle screw set to full close or lowest idling setting.

wait wait wait wait. You turn the key it idles for 2 sec then shoots to 7k rpm? What ecu did you use?

Check the throttle body. What happend to me was, the o ring somehow came loose that sits on the maf and stuck open the throttle plate, and it basically redlined the engine at idle. Not saying that is definitely your problem, but maybe worth a quick look to rule it out.

Its going to be an idle adjustment issue, throttle cable adjustment issue or something to that extent.

problem was solved. there is a screw that prevents the TB to fully close causing the enigne to rev high. thanks for the input guys.
