are you sure you are using left tail light with left location and right tail light with right location?

Well anyways I got 94 tail lights from my local Pull-A-Parts and experienced the same problem when I tried to put them in. You just have to improvise a little to make it fit. All I did was cut out the part of the harness that was blocking it from fitting right and TADA! Just add a little glue/tape to make it stay in place and you should be good. It's simple. If you want me to take pics of what I did let me know.

yes mine is a 92. i was thinking the same way you did to yours, trim or do whatever to it to make it fit, and please send me some pictures. thanks!

haha yes i put them both on and then after i realize the cover didn't fit, i took it off and put the stock one back in.

Probably what "eskelito123" said because I just installed the oem rear lights and the tsuru oem front grill and fit perfect.

91-94 all have the same connector u just plug it into your new tail light I just installed these on a friends 93 sentra it took me like 5 min to install

mine red clear lights didnt came with the black cover so i have to use the oem cover on my stock one which it dont fit...lol...
