Thread: trans to engine spacer plate missing

Well since mine is missing, can I just add individual washers to the make the spacing correct?

As much as that's making sense in principle, im also seeing this causing problems.

Now would this only cause problems as in letting in moisture and debris?

Yeah it is important. I actually forgot to put it in and had to pull the tranny back out and put it on. That was when I first swapped the motor in. It isn't as gasket it doesnt have any give to it. It does seal it up to keep things out of there but just image driving in the rain/wet and filling up the bell-housing with water. Or getting your clutch nice and wet. No good at all.
