Head gasket and head/main studs
I have a bad head gasket when running car white smoke comes out of the exhaust. Will a s13, s14, s15 head gasket and head/main studs work on a u13 sr20det? Want to double make sure before buying stuff!

Head studs will work but I believe headgasket has a different layout so you will need one specifically for FWD.

If your looking at aftermarket gaskets most have the holes for both the fwd and rwd oil pumps. The rest of the ports are the same for the most part. Gaskets such as the Cosworth (one of my favorite and one of the best headgaskets out there) work for both fwd and rwd SR's.

If your looking on a budget the VET metal headgasket is a great bargain and a very very good gasket as well for a great price.

As far as studs are concerned. It doesnt make a difference rwd vs fwd as they are the same.

All I can recommend is stay away from the ARP studs. Go with a proper stud that bottoms out in the block. Such as the Mazworx ARP2000 studs. Most of the other brands such as Tomei Cosworth and several others all bottom out. Look for the pointed bottom and you will see what i mean, not the flat cut ones like the ARP's.

If youd like to know more about the ARP's and why they suck search this forum and you will find your answer.

Yea I'm looking at aftermarket head gaskets and studs. I was looking at cosworth and apexi gaskets. Is apexi good to use?

Just get the VET gasket or Cosworth. Cosworth is less expensive than Apexi and a better design.
