I cannot believe you dissed Alan for effing up an axle and you didn't do the grounds.

OT I miss the starter honk on my first 3 SE-Rs. In my experience the starter will last quite awhile with that.

well the ground was on, it just wasn't %100 tight. then again if i had some help maybe i wouldn't of over looked it hehe

none of my cars/cars i've worked on have had this starter issue, it was new to me.

here's the project thread for this car:

This may be a dumb question - but how do you know the engine & parts were in good running condition when you got it at the junkyard? Or did you just hope it was? How long did it sit there for?

the car e got the engine from wasn't in the junk yard for long, we were there a few days before and it was not there. also the car we got it from was wrecked, now normally i dont like getting engines from cars that were wrecked in the front, but this was appeared to mainly suffer damage to the driver side bumper/headlight/turn signal and a little bit to the frame rail, but the engine looked to have stay in place.

but mostly we crossed our fingers!

Yikes! That would make me very nervous. Unless you got a good deal on it i've seen engines from wrecked cars in the front that wouldn't even start, and engines from wrecked cars in the back that wouldn't start either. it's a crap shoot.

i wrecked my first se-r, pretty much the same damage that was done to the 200sx we got the engine from just opposite side. it fired right up an i drove it home.

its even more of a crap shoot when the car in the junk yard is pristine in appearance. cause then you have no idea why its there.. at least with a wrecked car you Know why its there.

Its just funny that its the se-r that used to give me a thumbs up all the time lol. Wish the wheels were still in the yard, i asked last week when i was in there and the guy said the alloys were probally melted for scrap or something, but they dont usually keep the stock wheels poor b14 rims.

Theres also a very great shape 98 200sx in the yard, perfect looking no idea why she was in the yard. If i feel good enough tomorow going to go pull the tails for another guy on the forum.

Will be nice to not be the only b14 guy in the area with a sr that i know. Nice thing is hes getting the exhaust, and bumper for his car for super cheap just cuz i want the crap gone.
