Thread: Putt... putt... putt...@!##@%%%%!!!

Finally got everything done. Shout out to Miko for the replacement injectors... the ones I pulled were absolutely nasty. Too bad I couldn't find out who dumped whatever in my tank. As of now, though, all the kids and their friends are absolutely banned from the garage... at least until someone fesses up.

Well, the car with the 2 new injectors have been running great... until today. Nasty burnt gas smell, plus back to the hesitating and the car has been hard to start today. Just got home, and decided the test the injectors, thinking that the 2 on the left had to be replaced since I've replaced the other 2.

Nope, injector 1 and 3 were fine. 2 and 4 however... nasty tapping sound when I pulled the plug wires. Really loud.

WTF? Seriously. The smell of gas is weird, kind of a burnt smell, not like you get when you're filling up and combined with the weird tapping. Sigh, and the fsm is not being much help.

I'm thinking something is definitely toasted. Suggestions on where to start looking would be appreciated.

do a compression test, just to see where you stand.

Sigh, went to back the car out of the garage to get some working room. Giant, loud thunk when I went to turn the motor over. Thinking this is now more that a couple of piston rings.

Craptastic year so far.
