I never had an issue timing with UR pulleyes, you just start the car, rev over 3000 rpm three times, then turn it off. PUll the TPS sensor and start the car up. Then you should be able to dial in the timing with the distributor and light. I am thinking bad gas to, like water got introduced some how. Maybe a product like Sta-Bil can help dry out the water and get you going.

Sta-Bil... good idea. I've used that for the lawn mower before. Getting the car into timing mode, with or without pulleys, has always been a pita. Some people just don't have the "touch".

If the station sells diesel maybe it got mixed up on delivery. Saw this happen once.

How many miles on the car?

Start the car, and pull one plug wire at a time and see if anything does not change for one of them. I would say you have a dead injector. Very common on SR's. High ports are 10 minutes to change - low ports are much more than that.

You know, I only checked to see if they were "clicking"... used a long screw driver. But, just did the plug wire check. Plug 1 and 2, there was a difference. On the other hand, plugs 3 and 4... nothing changed, no difference. Weird.

So, I'm assuming that injectors 3 and 4 are bad and that the numbers run across like the plugs do... right? Eh, I'll check the fsm... haven't gotten that lazy, yet.

Now, to verify that they're bad and to source some replacements. Any other shortcut methods to fixing these like cleaning and a source for replacements? Car has 134k on it, injectors have never been replaced.

Thanks, Josh. Don't know why I skipped that test... I'll blame my kids.

i usually just pull the whole rail with inj's still in and all hooked up......unplug the dizzy and put some paper towels under the injectors and turn it over a few times and see if the pattern on the paper towels is the same....thats how i found bad injectors on a couple buddies se-r's....good luck sir!

I think I had an injector problem and was doing that to confirm. Didnt pull the hardness from the ignition module and one of the wires must not have been fully seated on the plug....Paper towel caught fire. After holy shitting and putting it out did the test again no issues and put the rail back on and everything was fine. Possibly burnt some kind of build up off.......

Just goes to show you fire fixes everything :P

alan, you do Not unplug the dizzy because if you do the injectors dont fire.. they actually get their signal from the dist. you just unplug the coil.

and ya i agree, injectors are probably dead. i've replaced my fair share of them.
