Rod knock, now what?
What do you guys think that I should do? I have about 1k to play with right now and in about 3 weeks I'll be getting another 800... Got rod knock today so now my 200 is just sitting. Should I just buy a de and swap it in, be done with it or should I go ve, turbo, sell it??? What do you guys think I should do...? Other than the engine its going to need the 1st-4th gear stack and a clutch kit (have a clutch disc already so just tob and pressure plate)

It was my daily driver but now its fucked..

drive it till it dies, you cant really hurt it any more. Start collecting parts for a new build. DEs can be had for cheap, or you could get new rods and a crank for cheap too. Then you can swap pistons, do some head work, or what ever you want to do.

Swap in a VE and be done with it. By the time you get it done youll have more than enough to do the swap. Ve's can be had for less than 900 to your door, figure 80-120 for an rpm switch and another 150 for a calum ecu or other chipped ecu to run it, 100 in misc stuff and fluids. If your car already has mods everything will switch over just fine.

depends
if you wanna keep the car. you know what it needs. if its a fixer i'd unload it and start fresh. otherwise, VE swap time and fix/swap out the tranny.

For a daily driver just drop in a ve and be done.

It already lost a lot of power... I'll be driving my sentra for the meantime and maybe this weekend I'll fix my bro's 240sx so I can drive that.. The compression on it isn't great enough for me to try and save PLUS it was leaking oil from a few different places but thats what happens when you buy a car for $500 lol

You think I should go for this one? $700 + $40 in gas
97-01 JDM Nissan Infiniti G20 200SX NEO VVL front end After research, its this shop http://www.venus-auto.com
Also, what is the 100 in misc things? I have a 2.5" exhaust so at least that will help it breathe well lol

It has 194k miles on it... Don't feel like replacing one thing and having another thing go wrong. Compression is in the 160's (well was before this happened, who knows right now...) Maybe I'll fix it once its out or I'll use the engine as a project to learn about it..
