The only way a P11 *might* out handle a NX2000 is if the P11 was on a set of stiff coil overs and the NX was on a set of blown stock struts with 200k miles on them. Even with that scenario played the mass, physical size and height of the P11 might still hinder it.
Trust me I've owned both.

Don't get me wrong, my P11 is still fun to toss around and for daily driving you can't beat the ride and soft leather seats.

Thanks, exactly the kind of response I was looking for. I think I need to put my nx on a skid pad.

The NX was rated one of the top handling cars back in the day. Look it up in some old Car and Driver mags.

Oh I know, that was one of the first things that got me interested in doing stuff to my nx

However I know that I would need a obd2 to obd1 step down. Also apparently there are MAF issues with the newer p11's. I am I wasting my time trying to get another fwd to handle?

P11 is a pig. I auto-crossed it myself, stock it didn't have enough power, boosted it had too much power thus it under-steered like crazy. Mind you I was hoping I could get away with stock 100k mile springs and brand new Koni Yellow Shocks.

Another thing that kills the P11 turbo is the gearing. Especially if you go big turbo like I did. First gear I didn't have traction, and I was going too slow for second gear a lot of the time thus second gear was out of boost. I would love to take the car Auto-Xing right now NA VE just to see how it compares .

Also how would those with experience rank it against the Integra and Mazdaspeed protege or even the Mini. These are all most frequently mentioned best fwd cars in terms of handling.

Thanks.

Coors75......P11 turbo with OBD2 & aircare around these parts...
I knew someone who tried that around here & gave up because of a few issues....long story....
We'll talk later man...

Vadim, I thought P11 was THE tranny for turbo!?

Kleensleeper, Yeah I did a bit more research and I think the obd2 will be the death sentence as long as we have our aircare system. I actually called the guy back and told him I needed to think about it some more.

Does anyone have any skidpad ratings for the b13-b15 p10, p11's ?

Judging by that video I think you meant "Understeer" (push) Vadim

P.S. whats up with your Cadillac style open handed steering??

Strength wise yes, gearing wise no. B15 trans is another one that is strong, but the gearing is even shorter then on P11's in 3-5 gears.

P10 trans is the best for boost gearing wise, strength wise is a different story.

Doh I meant to say understeer. I was watching Top Gear and they probably said something about oversteer and made me loose my train of thought .

Because it's an Infiniti , nah that course was too windy and with massive understeer you had to make all of the corners with the steering wheel. I am also a newb at auto-xing.

I have seen skidpad ratings from 0.83 - 0.86 g's for a stock '01 Sentra SE (B15). Despite the multilink beam in the rear I think it handles pretty well overall. Stock trim SE's have idependent Macpherson struts upfront. I pretty much have a sock set-up in mine but I have driven a B15 (SE) with full upgraded suspension/brakes/tires/front and rear sway bars and I was extremely impressed. I don't have any numbers on it though, it was a few years ago. Also the torsion beam set-up in the rear helps to keep the car rigid, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, provided you make up for the lack of control in the rear, in other areas. IRS would have been better for sure though.

Also, the B15 gets lumped into the same pile as the FAT P11 G20T as far as weight goes. However, at 2674 lbs. it is nearly 300 pounds lighter.

End biased B15 rant\

Here is a couple of links for B15 skid-pad ratings:

Handling of Various Vehicles

Performance - 2001 Nissan Sentra SE - Yahoo! Autos

I don't have numbers, but I think the tubby P11 might actually have slightly better skidpad numbers IIRC. <--- That hurt!
