drain some coolant, unbolt the bolts holding the housing on inlet pipe, remove t-stat from housing. Get some water up to boiling turn off the heat lower the t-stat in on a wire or something watch for it to open. Or you could just skip this step and buy a new one from the dealership they are like $2 or so. But make sure when re installing you put it back in the same as it was it can go in backwards or upside down make sure the jiggle valve is on the top half

ok so i installed a water temp guage.........on the highway at like 60 mph(cant go faster cuz it wants to overheat) my temp guage tells me im at just under 230* while the guage on the dash says im right in the middle of the meter!!!!!thats to hot right????what temp should i be at?

so when im at that temp....even in traffic, my fans dont come on and i have to turn on my heat to the 3rd postion to cool the motor down or the temp just keeps rising.....

so, since i have an auto nx radiator in my manual nx,there are two, in/out ports for the auto tranny cooler.....if i fill the tranny cooler with water or antifreze would it get cooler temps??

and when temps are 230* the cebter of the rad is not hot at all, just the edges are.....

so im still battleing this crap....

the best thermostats to get imo are failsafe that if they break the engine willnot overheat as they fail with the thermostat open worth the investment
