Good info, I wasnt aware of this. Does the GTI-R motor use the same head studs as all other sr20's?

No sir, ARP 202-4303 Engine Head Studs Bolts Kit Nissan GTi-R GTiR SR20DET AWD

thanks. I was actually going to buy studs and a head gasket from that sight you linked. Have you delt with them before? Are they any good?

So the moral of the story here is that arp still has not corrected the issue with their studs not bottoming out in our SR20's block? I thought they fixed this issue with the ARP2000 line. This is a bummer too cause arp is a great reputable company that's been around forever I had always said whnever I build my motor I was going with arp head studs and a cometic head gasket but now I'm a bit skeptical oh well back to the drawing board

they fixed this over 2 years ago and people still dont understand. The vw ones work just fine held my motor together and its still running to this day in another car with stupid ammounts of boost thrown at it

So basically, avoid ARP altogether in order to avoid any confusion or problems. Simple.

ARP main studs are fine, though.

Rumors CONFIRMED. Just got a new set(Boxed 1-16-2012) of the 102-4701 studs and they DO say 'ARP 2000' on the stud..here's a picture I took for proof. The studs are also spec'd to 90 ft/lbs of torque with the new 'ultra torque' lube:
