Strut Damage
Hey everyone. Well I went ahead and installed a left over hypercoil/agx setup on my NX. This setup was originally on my 94 SE-R. I no longer have that car because it was involved in an accident. T-bone type accident on the passenger side front.

Well the suspension setup has been sitting in my 93 shell since 2009. I noticed that when I installed it on the 93 the passenger side front tire had some serious camber. I also remember seeing my 94 with some serious camber after the accident. Now that the suspension is sitting on my 92 NX I again see that passenger side front tire has much more camber than the other tires.

Well just putting my observations together I'm thinking that the strut is bent. I went ahead and ordered a new strut.

I just wonder if the top hat, and spring are reusuable. What do you guys think? Just wanted to get some opinons or expertise.

I would think so. There are 3 pieces on top, the hat, the little bearing between, and the mount. Unless the rubber in the mount is damaged, it should be fine. The rest I can't see being damaged unless the strut tower actually crushed in on it. Same for the spring, unless it was severely deformed or crushed, it should be fine.

PM me if you think you need any of the top hat parts, I have some laying around from building CSKs.

They should be fine. When I got put into a ditch in my SE-R I bent 3 of the 4 struts, all bent blow the spring in between the mounting point and the bottom plate where the spring sits.

I didn't reuse the springs cause I put on some RM's, but I did reuse the top hats and I haven't had any issues and it's been 10-20k since I redid my suspensions.
