Obd readiness
I have 3 things that are not ready. Catalyst, o2 and egr. I am running a 96 g20 ecu with stock b15 harness. I have a 86kohm resistor in the egr tempsensor plug. I heard people are running 56kohm resistors. Should I try a 56? I was also thinking that if I am using a p10 ecu maybe I can't get the o2 sensor ready because I'm running a b15 o2. Should I switch to a p10 o2 sensor? I don't know what to do about catalyst.

oh man, that is such a headache. Some of those ECUs have a hard time going ready. A really hard time.

Worst case scenario you could put in a JWT computer, but if the original computer had this issue then it won't help your situation.

If you are sure the parts are good, I would look into getting another computer just in case. I had a car not want to go ready, I swapped the computer and it was ready in 15 minutes.

I just sold my jwt b14 ecu. I don't remember if I was having the same issues with it.

Are you having the issue with your rear o2 sensor? If so I am interested in the responses as well. I currently have my rear o2 not hooked up. I have no bung in my hotshot secondary pipe before the cat. I will get a bung put in but my sensor got damaged when it fell between the trannny and the CV shaft when I was driving a few months ago. So, I would like to know if I can get a B15 sensor as it will plug in to my harness or if I need to get a B14 o2 to match my B14 OBD2 Calum ECU. Similar scenario.

Also interested in the EGR responses as I will eventually have to do this mod.

Sorry for the thread-jack fubar1o2.

If you keep the EGR temp hooked up it will not throw a CEL, but the car will not go ready.

If you live somewhere that allows non-ready emissions to pass without CEL, then you will pass like I do.

Unfortunate he's in a "ready monitors " county . If it was one year older (2000 ) it would be allowed 2 monitors not complete . But 2001+ is allowed 1. I'm trying to run another 96+( shhhh ) nissan that does not have the VIN # written in the ecu as it will check for that during the obd2 plug in . But so far none have come by me . so we are at this point and .the problem is the computer is not seeing a difference in fuel trims when the egr is commanded on it won't complete its readiness tests . Even though the egr temp sensor might see a change due to a resistor in its place . I'm not familiar with niztune if the egr program can be deleted like a calum ecu . But even then the obd2 check needs to see a egr monitor in the ecu ready or not

Check out this G20.net thread. You might also find this Infiniti service bulletin helpful.

Someone on g20.net said the upstream o2 sensor is the same on all our cars in terms of voltage not the plug itself. They told me to change the downstream to a p10. We tried turning off egr through nistune but it didn't do anything. Maybe a 56k resistor will do the trick instead of 86k.

I just noticed in your 6262 dyno thread you said if your running nistune obd monitors wont set. Does this apply to me if i am using type 4 board?
