If the car felt strong, I would say it is likely worth it, especially with all the maintenance records (if you can confirm before purchase that it has been maintained) and single owner. Those two things would be worth a little higher price IMO. Do you need a/c? Do they know why the a/c doesn't work? If you don't care, say that since it doesn't have a/c you'll give them $2000 for it.

The engine, if maintained, will keep going strong for a long while. But you will have maintenance things to worry about. CV boots, tires, tired bushings, etc. How are the tires?

Also, the fact that the original clutch (I hope!) made it to 170k means it likely wasn't beaten on.

Edit: that's nearby. I'd be tempted to get it for my GF if you don't pick it up.

I would bring a flashlight and look down the oil filler cap for massive sludge, could very well mean it only gets an oil change once a year or something. Check for oil leaks particularly around the crank pulley (front main seal) and where the trans meet the motor at the lowest point (rear main seal) Then take off the radiator cap and check for any milkiness ie blown headgasket. Listen for unusual noises while the car is running, like ticking/knocking.

If the body is rust free and in good shape $2000 wouldn't be a bad price, if you were in Florida or someplace cars don't rust it would be a different story.

It looks like the ad is gone though, did you end up getting it?

no I was gone from Wednesday to Sunday so somebody must have picked it up. I did just find an nx2000 for 1500 on cl with 199000 miles and was thinking about taking a look at that

No, I was waiting to see if you passed on it before I would start to consider it. Good luck with the NX!
