You will never have to unbolt that prothane from the bracket anyway. Once the motor is out you can take the three or however many bolts out of the block around the oil pump and never have to touch them again but still be able to take the mount on and off.

I had to sit and think about it when I swapped old prothane mount for new one. The insert started moving over time and the edge of the insert began to be cut but the mount making the engine movement even worse.

Could do that too I suppose, but I've notched both prothane sets I've done and after years, neither has had any issues with degrading or moving or anything, so I see no reason not continue to do that. Yours is honestly the first I've heard of that happening.

I bought a set of those but I could not install them because of the solid rear mount. Cross member bolts were off by a good 1/2 inch to 3/4 of a inch. So I have $130 dollars in product sitting here doing nothing because I also purchased new crossmember bolts.

I just dropped the cross member when i installed mine, sooo much easier. Be prepared to cry bloody murder when you attempt to get that rear mount back in tho :P

Have the engine supported, push the rear mount up into the bracket, put the bolt through the mount and wind it in a few turns, then put the 4 cross member bolts in takes a few minutes to do and no fucking around trying to align things

I did attempt to do it exactly as you described up above....but the issue I was having was if I got the crossmeber bolts to thread up the bushings were off.....if I got the bushings to line up the bolts were off......there was only so much of that someone can take...especially with a car up only 19 inches off the ground..... I will give this a shot another day.....when I gather my mental stability back.....
