Alot of gasket surfaces use RTV stock. Like the upper/lower oil pan, water neck, timing cover, rear main cover and water pump. Some things require metal gaskets like the intake mani, timing chain, head, and exhaust mani. You wouldn't want to use RTV on the head, lol. Pretty much everything that you pull off, and a gasket is there, needs to be replaced with a gasket if it's destroyed. You can reuse some gaskets though. I reuse intake mani gaskets, and timing chain tensioner gasket too. The throttle body, and IACV use a paper gasket. Those are cheap man, but you can always go to any auto part store, and buy you a piece of gasket paper. It's cheap, they sell it by the foot, in many thicknesses, and I use it. All you need is a razor, and a pen to trace. Some permatex gasket shellac works wonders on paper to help seal them. It smells like sour ass, and is messy, but worth it.
You can get a new OEM head gasket from GregV for $40, or a multi layer SS VE for $75, and a Multi layer SS exhaust gasket for $20. The metal ones can be reused I'm pretty sure, maybe not the head gasket? someone else will have to answer that. The FSM says to always replace every gasket every time you remove something, but I dont most of the time. I've removed the TB carefully, and still reused the paper gasket. Though I always touch it up with gasket shellac.
