Thread: Water temp sender location

I can't get my water Temp guage into the top Rad hose as its a 1/2 inch fitting. So I'm thinking of drilling and tapping the waterpump blanking plate is this a suitable location for a water Temp guage?

On the first page of my build log I have a picture of where mine is tapped. It's in the outlet before the radiator so I can get an accurate idea of the water temp coming out of the head.

Wouldnt the heat of the actual outlet pipe interfere with the readings?

I would also put it in the water neck....


We actualy have Greg that makes the sandwich plastic as well.
