1992 P10 primera left front wheel problem.. and also why does my car run like crap?
I have had this problem for awhile now, 3 - 4 times now i have taken to a mechanic and yet the problem cannot be found.

My left front wheel is making a slight rubbing noise, like metal to metal. If i steer to the left, the noise disappears, if i turn back to straight the noise is there, and if i turn to the right it is worse, and more loud but its more of a higher pitch noise but not squealing, definitely something rubbing though.

This problem went away, came back part time, went away, then came back again...but more of a full time sound until once again it went away, but this time it went away for 2 weeks and I thought it was gone..... but then my right CV joint completely collapsed one time as I went to drive up a driveway. This is what I thought was the original problem. So anyhow I got a new CV joint installed. But then this front left noise, came back about a week later. So it wasn't my right one at all......

Now this left one doesn't really make a sound when I am accelerating, only when I take my foot off the gas does it make a sound...... and more noticable at slow speeds...

Does anyone know what this could be? it is driving me insane... and i'm starting to get deaf because i'm playing my music up loud so i can't hear it haha.....

If it helps -

For one day only... when i turned right, something was bumping.... I could feel it banging through the floor.... but that went away not long after....

Another thing is Brake fluctuations (my brake pedal sorta judders)....I don't have warped brakes as this is not a permanent occurance, it only happens when i go over a speed bump and iv been coming in at speed, may it only be cause i'm still coming over the bump at speed? But i got a bit of brake fluctuation when i was braking to turn into a side street - This was when it was snowing last week.... so I don't know how snow could be a factor in making my brake pedal go all funny...

Are these relative to this sound problem or is it completely irrevelant?....
Please help...

Problem #2
Most of the time when my car is cold.... My car runs like crap....

For instance... If i go to take off and then change into 2nd, if I leave my clutch in and let it drop back down, the revs drop right down to the point where the battery light flashes on (sometimes it turns right off).... its a fuel injected car, it shouldn't do that?

Is it something to do with my airflow or Air flow meter? or does it have something to do with auto-choke? as sometimes this doesn't work.... although recently it seems to be working..... but then it still wants to turn off...

Even when my car is warm my car feels sorta juddery and after coming to a stop my revs seem to drop down a little but not as extreme as it is cold.....

#1 I would say wheel bearing.

#2 Try cleaning the IACV and check for vacuum leaks.

^X2 I went to sears to get an alignment a while back. They're supposed top check over everything before they align it, because if you have bad suspension, and steering components, you can't get it aligned. They pointed out the obvious shit like "your steering rack, and strut bellows are bad", No shit sherlock! They didn't tell me my driver wheel bearing was bad, nor my pass ball joint. I don't trust mechanics. They go on to say that if I change these parts myself the alignment warranty is void. I'd rather pay 75 for a new alignment, then multiple digits for parts and labor.

I only take it to a couple of people I know personally who are mechanics as I have had the same sorta shit with other mechanics.

There's no play in my wheel though? Could there still be something wrong with my bearings even if there is no play?

And I will try clean the IACV out, I have been told in the past it might work...

Thanks

I would still replace the wheel bearing. My passenger rear bearing is going bad. It has no play at all in the wheel but there's a loud humming noise that resonates in the car. I can't think of anything else it could be.

i have this happening to my p10... the noise.... it comes an goes sound slike somehting in the passenger side is rubbing like FUK. im thinkin its suspension related.. not wheel bearing itself.

Wow, I have the same problem on my passenger side. It's like a chatter. I put it up on a rack because I could have sworn it was a CV axle but no, CV axle is fine. Next I am pulling the hub apart to check the bearing....I know I need to do a full on suspension and bushing swap, getting ready to hit 244,000 miles.

Yeah I've had this problem for a long time. sometimes it gets real bad and others it not so bad or not even there. my P10 has only done 170,000km though
