Low reading Temp Sensor
Hello everyone. I'm trying to trouble shoot a problem with my NX2k. The other day while stuck in traffic my dash temp gauge managed to climb to the line right before H. This really freaked me out as the car has never moved up that far. Luckily I wasn't up that high for very long as traffic started moving and the needle came back down to left of the middle.
Yesterday I went ahead and started logging my temperatures while driving using Ecutalk. I also flipped the coolant fan relay to confirm that my coolant fans do work.
Well what I discovered from logging is that during regular highway driving my temperature sensor reads mid 140's to low 150's Fahrenheit. This just seems really low to me. From what I understand regular operating temperatures should be around 180. My NX does have some upgraded cooling components. I'm running a GTi-R radiatior, and a Nismo rad cap. Coolant mix is probably around 60 % water, and 40% anti freeze. Ambient temperature yesterday here in Atlanta was 80s-90s. There is also nothing in front of the radiator as I have removed the AC condenser.
Is my temperature sensor reading too low? I'm thinking that maybe it is and that perhaps my fans didn't kick in while I was in traffic.
