Not completely, the various waves travel at different speeds so a shorter intake might take advantage of a different wave for low end.

Heck, I'm no expert. Lol. I was just reffering to volume.

Like on most high-power na engines in racecars that usually spend their time in high rpm's, you almost always see a scoop of some sort feeding into short velocity stacks. No real intake pipe to speak of. Just depends on where you want better volume. That would be the deciding factor of intake length for me. Now in the case of the VE, once vvl engages, I figure better volume at high-end would be more advantageous. Just depends on the driver, and what they want really. If it's a dd, and street manners are a concern, then finding a length that balances low-end response while not sacrificing too much high-end volume is idea of course. Now what that length may be, I have no clue really. There is some real science behind tuning an intake. Lol. Every setup I've done has always been a matter of trial-and-error, until I found the sweet spot.
