Thread: Need help with alt. Removal plz!!!!

The removal of the splash shields on the inderside allows the proper access, and the removal of the water neck on the block on the B14. I just left off the splash shields after ward as I 'm sure most do.

About to do mine since it only lasted 4 months. Dang reman from Advance. I'll probably remove the water neck as I have a thick Koyo and AC still on my P10. Trying to fuss with getting the alternator out otherwise is not fun.

yeah definitely a pita if you dont remove it

the remanufactured alternators never last more than a few months on sr20 cars

X2 talk to Miko about a VE alt...mine works amazing.

i havent been on in awhile but i find that very true ive only had my 200sx about a year and only drove it about half that and the alt. was replaced with a remanufactured one right before i got it and its already went bad

The KA alternator from my old 94 altima works well for my NX. The only diff is the pulley size is a bit smaller. I just got a rebuilt unit from a G20 a couple months back. It looked like it was just replaced. Now the bearing is going out in it. The KA is going back on.
