Thread: mix matching p10/b14 trans parts

what i want to do is take the p10 open diff trans guts and put them in a b14 case with the lsd..

basicly both gear stacks + shift forks

except i want to use the b14 5th gear because the p10 trans has 5th gear popout..

the b14 trans has 3rd popout

so both trannys have something wrong with them i wont be losing anything by playin around with them but i may gain a working trans..

im guessing it would retain the long p10 gearing but would gain the LSD obviously.. but how would the b14 5th work with the p10 stuff?

if this all works out well i would like to put it in the p10

what do you guys think?

isn't the pop out caused by a warped actuator or something? idk, I know little about trannys, I prefer my ladies cock-free...

it can be caused by two things, the dog teeth on the selector or the shift fork itself can be bent where the little shim thing goes in..

i would like to have the longer gears with the lsd.. the g20 5th is nice on the freeway, much better then a b13/14 trans.. when it worked she got great gas mileage

Truthfully i dont see any issues as long as everything lines up when put in there. Only way to really find out is trial and error. U got 2 bad trannys there, might as well give it a shot.
