Just wondering how hard is it to install cams. I was thinking of putting come bc cams in my det. I fixed my headgasket problem on that car so ive taken the stock ones out b4. Hardest part about installing cams? timing? would really want to install some on a friday night

I've never done cams, but im guessing you can zip tie the chain to the sprockets before unbolting them. They only go in one way.

Ok i'm not much help.......

Easy. Just make sure you loosen and tighten the caps in the correct order and only 1/2 a turn at a time. Put the motor at TDC, make sure the dowels are at 10 and 12, and that there are 20 rollers on the chain in between the two dots on the gears.

Print out both of the write ups on the old forum, follow instructions and you will be fine.

If you have fair knowledge and feel capable that you can do it go head. It is very simple but if you don't pay attention and take your time things can get really ugly.

You will want a good torque wrench that reads in inch-pounds.

^^yes what he said make sure you don't over torque those cam caps bolts they are weak as hell, lol. I snaped one without much effort.

Piece o cake - just follow the correct loosening/tightening sequence and use a good torque wrench, and you'll be fine. The power increase for the JWT S4s is awesome, by the way.

Well being very sketchy about doing it myself the 1st time. Once you take the valve cover off and get your cams top dead center. It's really not that hard after that. Just when you take everything off especially the sprockets, make sure they are in order. And for the record, you don't *really* need a torque wrench to get them tight enough. But that's just me. I always have tighten them down to be tight and then snake pattern tighten from left to right one more more 1/4 turn. And has always worked for me.

Good luck, and let us know how it comes out.
