slight prob with E brake and maxima upgrade.
hey guys i just install the maxima rear brakes onto my car (B13), an i am stuck with a problem with the e brake cable. the driver side cable fits perfect onto the caliper but the pass side cannot, the cable seems to short. i cant figure out why this is happening any ideas?

You'll have to loosen the adjustment under the center console to get some slack. Also hooking them up with the suspension at full droop is a pain in the ass. Try jacking up that one side that's not long enough and it should give you a bit more distance to play with.
Do final cable adjustment at ride height.

Also, if it's a B13 then you'll need G20 e-brake cable brackets for those calipers. The B13 ones don't really work well and aim the cables directly into the control arm. That's probably your main issue right there (just re-read and saw you have a B13).

I had the exact same problem installing Maxima rears on a B13.

Both sides of the e-brake cables, and the hand brake cable, attach to a small "plate" that allows them to swivel.

In my case the ends of the cables had corroded to the "plate" so they no longer swiveled. When I pulled on one side of the e-brake cable on the other side got shorter. Once I cleaned everything up, and greased it, the cables attached to the calipers with no problems.

The bad news is that the "plate" is located under the heat shield, up front, near the hand brake.

I had to loosen the brackets that hold up the exhaust and remove the heat shield. but it wasn't necessary to disconnect the exhaust pipes.

A lot of work for such a small piece, so hopefully this isn't the cause of your problem.

I have this problem as well, just learned that the G20 EBrake bracket is different from the maxima. We gotta get the G20 E Brake bracket for it to work properly. Also what NI SER-1 said.

I thought that might work, but I guess not? You might need the G20 ones.

If you manage to get things loose enough to attach everything just make sure you tighten it back up, and only do the final tightening with both rear wheels at normal ride height. If you get the cable adjustment "right" with the rear wheels in the air, it will be slightly too loose once you drop the car down.

I have the maxima brackets and with about .005 of grinding the inside the cable will will fit between the U of the bracket... B13

Pretty sure you just need brackets from a P10. Someone else could get more specific. This always catches people off guard. It caught me off guard too. It's a well kept secret that you need the G20 brackets. =/

You'll have to grind off a tiny alignment pin on the bracket to get them to mount in a good position too. Without the alignment pin, they don't have any trouble staying in position though so don't worry about that.

We have had 4 B13s in the family so I've installed both Maxima and G20 rear brakes. You don't need to grind off bracket alignment pins and I'm not sure it's a good idea to...

Use the Maxima brackets with the Maxima calipers and the G20 brackets with the G20 calipers.

Maxima calipers take a little more effort because you need to turn the cable sideways to get the notch to line up with the bracket.

Just use some pliers to hold the cable end notch sideways while you slide it into the bracket. Takes a little muscle, but it's not rocket science, so you take your time and look at the way things are supposed to fit.
