Ah, this. I forget sometimes that they shaved the head down on the SR16 N1 to give higher compression.
So it is pointless to have on a regular DE or VE unless you shaved the head down a lot. And in doing so, you would likely require cam gears as well to fix the cam retarding that would happen as a result.
