Thread: HELP PLEASE! Car Drinks gas like beer!

that happen to me a couple of months ago. I filled up the sentra and i drove the car to my friends house and parked it. Next thing you know it i saw a puddle under my driver side tire. It was gas and i didnt know where it was comming from. I put it on the lift and saw the cracked hose. But the thing is that hose only prevents me from topping off so i dunno if that would really effect gas usage

well if you cant physically see a leak or find a leak, i would next go to a sensor issue, maybe bad maf grounds, dirty maf,bad o2 sensor,bad cts stuff that is going to effec the gas mileage

Have you checked the plugs lately?

This will tell the story of what is going on,if they are black from just driving it around you have a fueling issue in the motor as mentioned above with a dirty maf, bad O2, etc.

Please realize that again, you're apparently using an inherently faulty gauge to say "quarter tank". Only way to know is filling up and doing the math. You can never, ever, use the gas gauge as a measurement for MPGs
