radiator fan relay ''clicking'' when it turns on?
quick question, i have for a while had this issue, however i rewired the radiator fan to just come on with the ignition, however i rewired alot of things lately and i would like to use the factory wires to run the radiator fans, however the relay keeps clicking when the fans are supposed to come on. i tried replacing the relay with different ones however i still run into the same problem, anyone know what could be causing this issue

The motor could be bad causing it to draw too much current, under sized wires, or a small short somewhere

do you think it could be the ac relay causing a short or causing the relay to click, i had it still plugged in however no a/c , just a thought

i have a blown fl30a radiator fuse blown in the engine bay for the radiator fan, can this be causing the clicking sound from the relay, i just noticed its blown it looked good, but it was the angle i was looking at it one of the arms on the fuse is blown.

Replace it and find out

If it is blowing fuses there is something not wired correctly. Look at your wiring again.

well the whole clicking issue has been going on for a few years now, originally when i investigated the whole issue, i checked that fuse and it looked good, but it was also older looking and dirty so you really couldnt tell.

what i ended up doing for the last couple of years is just wire up the fans to the ignition to come on, its not ideal but it worked, but i just bought some nice fal fans and wanted to get this setup right.

for all i know it blew the fuse 2 years ago lol

i am going to the junk yard today to get ome fuses and see if the clicking stops, i hope it does

just buy new fuses, they're cheap as all hell. Never understood people going tojunkyards for fuses

Most relays click when they are switched, and that is a normal sign of good operation. If the radiator fans aren't working you could test the relay, but if it is clicking it is more than likely good.

Unless you mean it is clicking rapidly and continuously?

yes rapidly and continuously, and no power to the factory fan harness. i was thinking maybe this blown fuse could be causing the issue?

also i was heading to the junk yard anyway, but didnt make it there today as its storming, so i will just prolly go tomorrow or something
